      2011 HALL OF FAME BANQUET

“Welcome Aboard New Hall of Famers”

The GWFSHFC held its 48th Annual Hall of Fame Awards Banquet on Saturday, November 5, 2011.  The banquet was held for the fifth consecutive year at the Holiday Inn College Park.

More than one hundred ninety (190) supporters of fast pitch softball, including twenty-four Hall of Fame inductees, and family and friends of the 2011 inductees attended to honor and celebrate the induction of six new members into the Hall of Fame.   They were:

-        William ‘Skip’ Creamer

-         James Holloway

-        Dave Jacobs

-       Bob Johnson

-        Philip ‘Reesie’Morgan

-        Kathy Matthew Moore

In addition, at this year’s banquet Paul Singer, son of 2010 inductee Dave Singer (deceased), was recognized and accepted the Hall of Fame induction plaque for the family.  Dave was one of eleven individuals identified by the commission’s Old Timers Committee who were inducted in 2010.

The 2011 inductees raised to two hundred ninety-nine (299) the number of players, managers, umpires and sponsors of fast pitch softball who have been honored by induction into the Greater Washington Fastpitch Softball Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame Commission thanks all that attended and who helped make the 48th annual banquet a success.  Their presence was important to each inductee and their support is crucial to the work of the Hall of Fame Commission.

The 49th Annual Hall of Fame Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012, again at the Holiday Inn College Park.  We look forward to seeing you at the banquet as we honor a new class of inductees.

Please consider using the 49th Annual Hall of Fame Awards Banquet as an opportunity to reunite with former teammates and friends.

Request For Information For Ms. Kitty Casale

The Greater Washington Fast-pitch Softball Hall of Fame Commission announced that Christine ‘Kitty’ Casale, a 1981 Hall of Fame inductee, who died during the first week of March (2009) in Atlantis, Florida had a Plaque dedicated in her honor at the 2009 Awards Banquet.  We were pleased that Kitty and her daughter, Linda, had visited Washington in November 2008 and attended the (2008) 45thHall of Fame Awards Ceremony.  During the induction portion of this year's Awards Banquet,  the Hall of Fame Commission presented the Plaque for the attendees to view, and noted that it will be displayed at every future Banquet.  The Plaque was funded by donations in her name by her family and friends.  It will display the names of all future inductees. It is a wonderful tribute to an outstanding fast pitch supporter and Hall of Famer.

Ms. Linda Casale (Kitty Casale's Daughter) is seeking information about her mother from friends, Hall of Fame Members, former players and anyone with information to assist her in writing her mom's biography. She can be contacted directly at the following address and or email address.  Any information from anyone will be greatly appreciated by Ms. Linda Casale
